Updates on Factur-X and ZUGFeRD standards

New versions take effect on 15 may 2025

France and Germany are once again working together to streamline electronic invoicing. On 7 May 2025, they released updated versions of the specifications of the Factur-X 1.07.3 and ZUGFeRD 2.3.3. These updates support their ambition to improve e-Invoicing compliance and interoperability across borders.

Updated every six months

The latest versions include revised code lists aligned with the European standard EN16931. These updates happen twice a year to keep the formats consistent and up to date. The goal is to ensure e-invoicing continues to support automation and accuracy in financial workflows.

What’s new?

This update is mostly technical, focusing on harmonizing code lists rather than structural changes. The document is available in English, French, and German, reinforcing its cross-border usability.

This version is a must-have reference for those who rely on accurate and up-to-date specifications. The update officially goes into effect on 15 May 2025.

Available in multiple languages

To support widespread adoption, the updated documentation is available in three languages. You can find the English version via this link: Download Factur-X 1.07.3 / ZUGFeRD 2.3.3 – English version.
