E-invoicing mandates for global VAT compliance

We simplify e-invoicing compliance. Wherever your business operates globally or locally, our platform ensures seamless compliance with all e-invoicing regulations.

Europe is moving fast toward real-time e-invoicing and digital VAT reporting. As part of this shift, the European Commission and many governments are introducing e-invoicing mandates to improve transparency, reduce fraud, and simplify compliance. At Dynatos, we help businesses adapt to these changes with technology that makes e-invoicing compliance efficient and reliable.

VAT in the Digital Age (ViDA)

The EU’s VAT in the Digital Age (ViDA) initiative aims to modernize VAT reporting and prevent fraud through real-time digital reporting. Adopted by all EU Member States, ViDA establishes a harmonized framework for cross-border e-invoicing and digital data exchange. The rollout begins in January 2028, with full domestic reporting expected by 2030.

Why adopt e-invoicing now?

Moving to e-invoicing goes far beyond compliance. It automates manual tasks, reduces reporting errors, and accelerates financial workflows. Additionally, digital invoicing improves data accuracy and ensures transparent tax reporting, saving both time and resources. As regulations tighten, adopting e-invoicing early helps your organization stay compliant and avoid costly disruptions.

E-invoicing mandates: a global trend

Around the world, more countries are introducing mandatory e-invoicing for both domestic and cross-border transactions. Although requirements differ, the shared goal is to increase tax transparency and reduce fraud. Countries like Italy, Romania, and Mexico are already leading the way, while others in Europe and Asia are following closely.

Stay compliant everywhere

Managing multiple e-invoicing mandates can be complex. With Dynatos, you can streamline global compliance from a single platform, ensuring your processes meet both local and EU standards. Therefore, you remain fully prepared for every upcoming digital reporting deadline.

European Union

More and more EU countries require member states to adopt e-invoicing through their own governmental platform or Peppol.

United States

While not federally mandated, several states have e-invoicing requirements.

Asia

Asian countries like India, Singapore and Malaysia have established comprehensive e-invoicing frameworks.

It’s important for your business to stay informed about upcoming mandate deadlines to avoid penalties.

E-invoicing aims to improve efficiency, compliance, cost savings, and transparency in financial transactions.

Get started with e-invoicing

Routty by Dynatos is a comprehensive e-invoicing platform for accounts payable and accounts receivable. It facilitates inbound and outbound e-invoicing, ensures compliance and validates the data for further processing.

Frequently asked questions

Governments are digitising invoicing and tax reporting to reduce fraud, increase transparency, and improve VAT collection. Mandatory e-invoicing provides real-time or near real-time transaction data to tax authorities, which simplifies audits, enhances compliance, and reduces administrative effort for businesses.

Each country sets its own technical format, reporting model, and implementation timeline. For example, the EU is moving toward ViDA, while countries such as Mexico, Chile, and Saudi Arabia already use real-time clearance systems. The United States does not have a federal mandate but is introducing state-level requirements. A compliant platform helps unify these differences so organisations can manage global compliance from one place.

Under ViDA, cross-border EU B2B transactions will require structured e-invoicing and near real-time digital reporting. Traditional PDF invoices will no longer meet regulatory standards. Companies operating within the EU will need systems capable of generating, exchanging, and storing invoices in a compliant digital format aligned with EN 16931.

Preparation involves evaluating current invoicing processes, identifying reliance on PDF or email workflows, verifying ERP readiness, and analyzing country-specific requirements. A compliance platform like Routty consolidates these steps (automating validation, routing, archiving, and mandatory data exchange) allowing your organization to meet new deadlines without disrupting operations.

No. While mandates differ by country, modern compliance platforms are designed to support multiple regulations from a single environment. Dynatos and Routty offer a unified architecture that connects with Peppol and other national networks, ensuring your invoices meet each country’s technical and fiscal rules without maintaining separate systems.
