“Look at the opportunities, not the limitations”

Empowering People with Jesper Tinggaard Rasmussen

When you talk to Jesper Tinggaard Rasmussen, you immediately sense his calm optimism. He’s open, grounded, and always looking forward. Known among his colleagues as super positive and very athletic, Jesper radiates energy, even when telling stories about racing down the Grand Canyon or skiing in Norway. “It’s important for me to explore what I can do, not focus on what I can’t,” he says.

Jesper has been part of Dynatos Denmark for 7 years, but his journey in process automation began much earlier. After seventeen years at ReadSoft, he joined Dynatos to help develop the Nordic business. “I liked the people behind Dynatos, many of whom were former colleagues. When I spoke with Gert-Jan de Vries [CEO of Dynatos, red.] about establishing the office in Copenhagen, the spirit was the same: straightforward, entrepreneurial, and focused on delivering a great customer experience. No nonsense, just doing business the right way.”

Resilience and Perspective

Jesper’s optimism is not naïve; it’s earned. Living with an autoimmune disease that affects his mobility, he has learned to see opportunities where others might see limits. “When I get out of bed in the morning, I still think of myself as walking,” he says. “The wheelchair doesn’t define me; it just helps me move.”

I don’t see the limits; I try to explore what I can do.

That mindset gives him a unique perspective on resilience. “Patience has been my greatest teacher, with myself and with others. When you’ve been through health challenges, you appreciate success in a different way. However, it also sets the bar high. I want to prove, to myself and others, that I can do it.”

Whether skiing on a monoski or sailing with friends, Jesper finds joy in staying active. “I can do more than people expect, and that’s fine with me,” he laughs. “The only thing that can be a little tiring is constantly feeling like I have to prove myself. But I’ve learned to accept who I am.”

The Freedom to Create

Jesper thrives on the freedom to try, test, and learn. “We can experiment across countries, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and see what works best. That’s the kind of autonomy I enjoy.” He describes Dynatos’ culture as one of open communication and zero hidden agendas. “If something needs to be discussed, we just call each other. We share the same goal: to make things work and to make our customers successful.”

That pragmatic spirit also applies to his view on market developments. Denmark has long been a frontrunner in e-invoicing, and Jesper keeps a close eye on upcoming changes such as the transition from Nemhandel to E-Faktura. “It’s more of a technical and regulatory update than a revolution,” he explains. “The real shift will come in the next few years, when Denmark aligns further with European standards like Peppol and EN 16931. Companies will need to be ready, and that’s where we can really help.”

From Reseller to Innovator

After two decades in automation, Jesper’s excitement now comes from the value Dynatos can deliver rather than the technology itself. “It’s about how we create efficiency and tangible results for our customers, and how we develop our people in the process.”

With our own IP, such as Routty and IDP, it feels like bringing our own ideas to life; that’s something to be proud of.

He sees great potential in Dynatos’ own IP: Routty Cloud, IDP, AR, and Archive. “It’s much more rewarding to bring something you’ve helped shape to market. It’s our own baby,” he says with a smile. “With Routty, we can offer a complete solution, from incoming invoices to document control and compliance. Customers shouldn’t see it as a tool, but as a platform that supports all their processes.”

In Denmark and Sweden, Jesper and his team work closely with resellers and partners. “Around 95 percent of our revenue here is driven by partners. So our job is to make their success possible, with ready-to-go solutions, clear support, and a structure that helps them serve customers efficiently.”

Looking Ahead

Asked about the future, Jesper’s answer reflects both ambition and gratitude. “I hope my legacy is a positive mindset, for my kids, my colleagues, and my team. I want them to look at opportunities, not limitations, and to aim higher, and you’ll realize you can achieve more than you ever believed possible.”

His advice to the next generation in tech? “Be humble and committed. Success doesn’t happen overnight. Walk the extra mile, and enjoy it while you’re doing it.”

And when pressed on one final choice — skiing or sailing? Jesper smiles. “In my dreams, sailing. But in reality, skiing. When I’m on the slopes, I’m completely independent. And that feeling of freedom, that’s everything.”
