Speira is a global aluminum producer focused on recycling and flat rolled products. To standardize indirect procurement and improve the requester experience, Speira partnered with Dynatos to implement Coupa for sourcing, contracts, and P2O.

Challenges

Manual effort and different ERP ways of working slowed purchasing. There was no central contract view, and requesters needed too much guidance. Process documentation varied by plant, which limited scalability.

Solution

Coupa was selected for its configuration options, ease of use, and fit with Speira’s goals. Together with Dynatos, Speira defined processes, prepared master data and integrations, and trained local teams before each go live.

Approval times dropped from more than five days to less than one day for Coupa orders. That makes a real difference on the shop floor.

Results

Since adopting Coupa, Speira sees gains in speed and quality. Approval cycle time fell from more than five days to less than one day for Coupa orders, an improvement of about eighty percent. The auto-match rate in the Accounting Center increased by about twelve percent. Catalog buying and spend under contract also grew, and requesters handle everyday needs with minimal training.

80%

reduction in approval cycle time for Coupa orders, from over five days to under one day.

Dynatos stepped in with targeted process workshops and helped us get to a level where implementation and adoption were smooth.
